rendering by K.H.Ayres Verdun, Montréal EcoCité Development 's most innovative project to date, "Abondance Montréal" reflects our team's desire to develop a residential project that demonstrates the profusion of knowledge, creativity, and energy available to help us manage with key environmental issues such as resource availability and climate change. Abondance Montreal does just this. The concept of the Abondance Montreal Project came as a result of the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation’s "EQuilibrium Housing Initiative". EcoCité Developments was invited to participate with a team of highly specialized and experienced designers to develop a home that produces as much energy as it consumes. We decided to use the seemingly ubiquitous Montreal triplex as an ideal platform for a new form of sustainable housing. As we sought a suitable site for this project, we discovered an ideal location in Montréal’s south-west borough of Verdun. This property was suitable for both the Prototype Triplex, Le Soleil, and a second, larger green building, La Terre. In total, there are 20 units of EcoCondos and EcoLofts available on the site. Both buildings, joined by a European-style court yard as well as roof top common areas, are energy efficient, healthy and make living a sustainable, healthy life easier and very enjoyable. This website is being updated, as we try to give you as much information as possible. In the meantime, if you have any questions, fell free to contact us.
